Artist Statement; the need to fulfill creative urges is just about the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have just the greatest time when I’m working at my easel. The only thing better is the research leading to the painting or maybe the anticipation of the end results. The charge that I get from it keeps me going. I like painting plien air style, as well as painting in the studio. My subjects include just about anything from the figure to landscapes. I’m accomplished as an portrait artist rendering portraits in oil on canvas. I paint in both acrylic and oil paint mediums. This gives me the confidence to try almost anything to render the look or idea I’m after.
Photography is my joy; it allows instant gratification (quick fix if you will)
The pursuit of painting research or just taking good photos for fun can be exhilarating. I do take photography serious and I travel intensely in search of subject matter for both my painting and photography.
I am a self taught artist starting with watercolor, then acrylic, and then Oil paints. I do accept commission work on a regular basis.
