My journey into the arts began as a college student when I was faced with the choice of getting a job and paying rent, or going off to college and becoming a student. I choose the latter and off to ASU I went and excelled in ART and ENGLISH. It was during this stint that I realized my satisfaction in art using bright colors.
Marriage, children, work, and life took over, but I still continued my experimentation of different art mediums. As my children aged and went off on their own I filled my time dabbling and wandered into the colorful world of beads. I started using seed beads, and a needle and thread to create necklaces. At bead gatherings I was always drawn to the handmade glass beads (Lampworking.) I took a beginning class in April of 2005 and knew immediately that I had found my medium in glass.

A river of glass pushed me further into the art of fused glass. In April of 2007 I took a beginning class and created my signature item, “Lovely Hands”. I trace hands and put them into beautiful fused glass pieces of art. I maintain files of the hand tracings of each child as they grow. One day I will have 16 years of tracings to commemorate my clients’ children’s childhood. (Say that 6 times.)
Currently I am creating jewelry using my lampwork beads and fused glass pendants. I am also still creating wonderful memories with my “Lovely Hands” pieces. I also teach fused glass for the Orono Community Ed Program. I do several art shows throughout the year in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
If you are interested in creating your own “Lovely Hands” piece ask for my brochure.
